White House Loses Credibility (again)

Campbell Brown: “Jarrett seems loathe to admit that MSIBC has a bias”

Recently, Valerie Jarrett, also known as “the other half of Obama’s brain” told CNN’s Campbell Brown that FOX News was biased, focusing on the “lies” (which happened to be truths) they spread about healthcare reform.  To my surprise, Brown stood up to her and made the above comment about this issue last night.

Although I agree with Ms. Brown, I’m not a fan of FOX, CNN or MSNBC. I am, however, all for pointing out the hypocrisy in politics that we were promised would come to an end once “The One” took control of the White House.

I don’t for one minute believe Brown was doing anything other than taking a swipe at CNN’s competitor MSNBC, but sometimes, the truth comes out (even if by accident).  What I find even more interesting (but not addressed by Brown) is Jarrett’s familiar use of the word “We” when discussing the POTUS’ agenda.

Jarrett has been behind the POTUS (actually behind MO, since she asked for Jarrett’s approval before even going on a second date with BO) since his early days as a shiftless, lazy opportunist Community Organizer in Chicago;  a position that Jarrett arranged for him to occupy via her connections to Mayor Daley.

It all began with this interview:

Which had this result:

So, I guess I tip my hat to Campbell Brown, even if her greatest accomplishment in calling attention to this hypocrisy was unintentional.  I guess I’ll put her in quarantine with Maddow, since she actually (albeit inadvertently) exposed the truth about this White House’s full court press to squash freedom of the Press.

News is news. Journalists are supposed to report the news, the facts. Opinions are something else. Right, middle, and left points are desirable. They give perspective. But when the highest office in the land espouses one over the others, under the guise of fairness (of all things), well then they do expose their own weakness (bias).

    Excellent post.

      Thanks for that.

I’ve been losing heart lately. Between the obvious political bullshit that has the POTUS dragging his feet re: Afghanistan, the “health care reform” that nobody can put on the internet for our perusal, and the dodge-ball tactics the WH uses whenever anyone asks “How you gonna pay for this turkey?”, I’m about to give up.

Don’t be surprised if you someday soon see a “Gone Fishing” sign on this blog…..

Our POTUS is waiting for the November elections before he actually takes a stand on Afghanistan. Everybody knows it and nobody wants to come right out and say it.

In the meantime, our brave men and women in the military are being picked off like flies by the enemy – all for the sake of politics. I’m disgusted……..

A good idea would be to require anyone running for POTUS to have served in the military before giving them the power to make decisions on military strategy. (or, be forced to implement the advice given by a credible advisor)

“..require anyone running for POTUS to have served in the military…”
If his current performance is any indication, that dawdling behavior would likely end up as wounded/casualty in a firefight in Iraq or Afghanistan today. The military is about making decisions, not just languidly thinking about them.

Haven’t we done that already?

I do have to say that you are a bright spot for me. Keep slugging away.

I’m just disgusted with what is happening to America.

I may post lighter than usual, or just a succession of open threads. Either way, I need to regenerate some interest because I feel like we are all fighting a losing battle (or at best, going in circles).

People who voted for BHO are constantly voicing their regret to me (is that happening to anyone else out there?).

In those cases, I find it hard to not say “Fuck you. I told you all this before you ran to the polls like a bunch of lemmings going off the side of a cliff.” Granted, I’m a nice guy for the most part, but I’m not Gandhi, for gods sake.

So, for reasons of sanity, I may be hit and miss for a little while. But don’t mistake that for a sign of weakness or defeat. Any of you who know me personally know that I’m just gathering my strength and will come out swinging. After all, what do we have to lose? We’re already fucked, so lets give them a run for their money

That is right…we have nothing more to lose Anthony. Take a rest and regroup. This tidal wave of stupidity will not quell overnight. Tomorrow there will be more of the same.
I am hopeful that it will lessen in the long term. Let’s face it, this country did not get this way overnight, right?

    What thetowncrier said!!

We cannot afford to lose anymore of the sane voices in the blogosphere…..hang in their Anthony.

As for obamaCo, really they have no credibility to lose, as they had none to begin with.

“As for obamaCo, really they have no credibility to lose, as they had none to begin with”

But pundits (including Brown) kept hammering away that our nation would be in peril unless this joke of a man was elected to the highest office.

      And the lemmings jumped.

      Assholes.

      • 2009 October 31

Assholes?? You are way to kind Anthony. I am thinking more along the lines of pathetic, ignorant MFers…..but that is just me.

“Motherfuckers” is a perfectly acceptable word that is allowed here, providing it is contextually accurate. (and especially if its describing ‘The Kenyan’ or any of his followers).

She must have felt really pushed in order to have this put out. I wonder how long she debated it.?

Valerie Jarrett is Bammy’s surrogate mommy.

    • 2009 October 30

Valerie Jarrett has more power than most people realize.

Campbell Brown unwittingly did us a favor. In her valiant attempt to save Communist News Network from any further ratings losses, she said what most of us knew all along: That MSNBO has been in the tank for BHO since day one.

Unfortunately, what she forgets is that she was one of the most vicious in her attacks against Sen. Clinton during the primary campaign, sticking a knife in her back and twisting it at every opportunity.

That said, Brown (in my estimation) is no better than Chris Matthews or Keith Olbermann. But I’m willing to at least go a little easier on her on that point because she brought a conversation to the forefront. (The same conversation we’ve all been engaged in for the past 10 months)

I will never forget or forgive Campbell for that assault. I don’t think that many of us ever can. She was vicious.

The only thing surprising might be that he actually got up early to go to the AF base. Then again, he is never one to miss a great photo op. Or crisis.

    • 2009 October 30

or anything he can say “Look what I inherited from Dubbya” about in an attempt to avoid his own lack of interest.

You should have seen him this morning (10/30) at the photo op re: renewing the Ryan-White Act. You would have thought that he discovered and isolated the AIDS virus himself, for all the attention he was demanding for signing the (fourth) renewal of this act that Bill Clinton put into motion.

Nothing more than a bone he was throwing the LGBT community for sticking it up their asses by ignoring more urgent reforms. (Like DADT, which, as a sitting POTUS during wartime, he could have simply gotten rid of it without congressional approval.

This guy is a fucking putz. Everybody knows it (Just look at his poll numbers above), yet the MSM continues to herald him as the second coming of christ. Including Campbell Brown

I believe Campbell Brown was off on maternity leave for much of the previous year. But for anyone on CNN to lecture others on bias strikes me as major league hypocritical.
CNN was biased for Obama big time. NOW, they want to be “just” doing journalism?

    • 2009 October 30

And when she wasn’t on maternity leave, she was frothing at the mouth at the idea that Hillary would have the audacity to actually run for office. Fuck her.

As stated above, this does not absolve her from any past inequities. Her argument with Jarrett, although valid, was nothing more than a CYA moment for CNN and their dismal ratings.

I think this country is ripe for a Third Party (in my most indulgent dreams, headed by Hill and Bill, but I’m not holding my breath).

Look at the strangle-hold these two corrupt parties have us in. Between the GOP, (who uses fear and god to force legislation), and the DNC (who just lies through their teeth and spreads propaganda about the new messiah) we, the people are getting screwed; both from the left as well as the right.

I’ve about had it with all of them. The next election, I’m voting against every incumbent, no matter who they are. Its time the bureaucrats understand that we are still paying their salaries, and if they don’t want to be held accountable for their actions, they are going to lose their jobs (like more than 10% of us who represent casualties resulting from the “bailout” that was supposed to jump start our totally fucked economy that Dubbya started and Obama fast-forwarded.

End of rant. god, that felt good……

It is a shame, today, that we laud reporters for reporting the truth–whatever their motive may be. It reminds me of going to see a movie once and realizing, at the end, that there was no foul language. I felt like something was missing, and it was refreshing.

I am sure that CNN will use Brown’s interview to prop itself up as an un-biased news source and maybe all 570 viewers will believe it.

Anthony, hang in there. More and more people are waking up and seeing the light. Fewer people are blindly believing everything the president has to say.

“I am sure that CNN will use Brown’s interview to prop itself up as an un-biased news source and maybe all 570 viewers will believe it.”

Had no idea their fan base was that large…

I hope everyone uses Brown’s interview to do whatever they want. They can use it to cast stones against those who know the truth and call them names, or they can use it to defend themselves. Either way, the arrogant and reckless comments that Jarrett made will be heard by anyone who has a dog in this fight.

And whether or not the Bots will want to admit it or not, the unconscious always hears. Somehow, even if its buried, the truth expands the mind to a place where it can never revert to its prior ignorance or innocence.

I personally hope it crushes those who were most instrumental in giving the US another four years of bullshit in a way that is more crushing than anything they’ve ever experienced so far.
